Edward was born in Lanarkshire, Scotland and lived in Nova Scotia & Marion Co., W. Va.

Edward married: Margaret Snedden (b. ca. 1806).

Their children: Elizabeth, Margaret Winning, Mary Fox, Peter, James, Barbara Cook & George Washington Robertson.
