I found Israel (my great, great grandfather) on the 1871 census using his wife name. It stated he was born in Cymbach, Monmouthshire. The spelling could be different. However, I can't find him on any census before that. He was born circa 1837. He was living in Dowlais by 1871. His wife, Mary, was born in Landovery, Cardiganshire. Any clues how to find Israel. I've added a copy of the census.
