Looking for family of James Doherty Cloone Co Leitrim Ireland. Died 1865

Known Son Patrick,  May have had a son John

My Great Grandfather was William Doherty from Cloone, Co. Leitrim (born 1855). He joined the RIC so he was posted to Cork, which is where died in 1926. His father was Peter Doherty and we believe his father was Michael. Peter was born about 1817.

It appears that there were 2 separate Doherty families who came down from Donegal, and while they are related it goes way further back to their "link up" point (joint ancestor).

I have a Great Great Great Grandfather John Doherty Born 1834, Clare, Ireland, Married Catherine O'Farrell ,1848 - 1884from Kilkenny, Ireland. Please let me know if it's a possibility?? Melissa

Nope. Clare is in Munster Leitrim in Connaught, Over 100 miles. Would not have traveled that distance in 1800
