Hi - I was hoping that any fellow researchers out there and/or anyone who may hold the key to this mystery may be able to help me find any information on a Miss Lucy or Lucie Marie Louise Dolphynfrom France and a Tinsley Waterhouse (a retired Engineer) who moved to France (I suspect it would have been prior to the 1939 and in a time when an Englishman might have made some impression on the life of the region) and lived at villa “Les Torrents” at Saint Raphael, Valescure, His death notification states it occurred 23/2/44, at 00.10h.The notification was made by a Josephine Girande, 36 yrs old, who is described as a housekeeper – her address is somewhere else in St Raphael, not Valescure where he was living. In Tinsley’s will it mentions a Miss Lucy or Lucie Marie Louise Dolphyn who must have been a very close friend of Tinsley’s as he left a large portion of his possessions to her. Also mentioned in his will is an association with the agency WFKing in Valescure. Tinsley is my Great Grandfather and very little is known of his time in France so any information that any one may have on him or Miss Lucy or Lucie Marie Louise Dolphyn would be ever so gratefully received. Looking forward to any reply no matter how small or large. Kind Regards Tanya

GG grandfather Alphonse Joseph Bailly immigrated to NY in 1872. In 1874 He married a woman also from France, Marie Crave, in NY. I've been unable to find out where they came from in France. I have their parents names from records here in the US but no mention of a city of birth. If anyone has any info on these surnames please contact me on this board.
A group of us have formed the Durrett DNA Project. We are looking for Durrett males to join our surname project. Our goal is to look at the Durrett surname and attempt to see where they migrated to when they left France. We know one group left France during St. Bartholomew's Massacre and went to England. From England they came to the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA in the late 1600 to early 1700s. We would like to see where others settled around the world. We also hope that we will be able to find out where in France the early Durrett's lived.
