I am researching the LENNONS of Armagh county, IRELAND. There were 3 brothers who were born in the town of Armagh, Creggan Parrish, of Armagh county.
James LENNON, (1787 - 1855). He joined the 100th Regiment of Foot in 1805 & was sent to what is now called CANADA. He participated in the 1812 War between CANADA & the U.S.A. He married Catherine PENDER (1806-1896) & they raised 9 known children. He farmed in Goulbourn township of Carleton county, Ontario.
Hugh LENNON, (1794 -?). May have emigrated to CANADA about 1824, settling in Goulbourn township, of Carleton county, Ontario. He later moved to South Gower township, of Carelton county. He was married to Catherine O'NEIL (1808-?) who was born in IRELAND. They raised 8 known children.
Patrick LENNON, (1798-1859). Emigrated to CANADA in 1818, settled in Lanark township of Lanark county, Ontario. He married Elizabeth MOULTON (1803 - 1869) who was born in Barragh Parish, Carlow county, IRELAND. They raised 11 children.
I would be interested in ascertaining whether there were other siblings who may have remained in Armagh, Armagh county, IRELAND. As well, who were the parents of the above 3 brothers. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
My name is Thomas Lennon, Born in Liverpool 1928, My Father was also Thomas Lennon, born in Liverpool, 1898, My Grandfather was Peter Lennon, also born in Liverpool 1866, and my GT Grandfather was also Thomas Lennon born in Ireland in 1821, not certain but I believe my Gt Gt Grandfather was John Lennon born in Belfast in1794, My GT Grandfather Thomas married a Mary Devitt in Liverpool in 1846. In the Census Postings they seemed to have moved around alot, changed their names and Ages, but BMD certs I have confirm them as them, My Gt G/F was a Stevedore in the Port of Liverpool, untill he died in 1883, I have been unable to find when my Gt Granmother Mary nee Devitt died , but I believe it was 1888, They seem to have adopted the Surname of Quinn from 1851 to 1891, but then my Grandfather ,Peter Lennon seems to have reverted to the Lennon Family name, in 1901 why they have taken the name Quinn, from 1851 to 1891, at Census is a complete mystery, but we believ they are the same Lennons Married in 1846, They also changed their ages every Census, just to Further confuse us their decendants., There was about three or four Lennon Families in Liverpool around the 1800/1851 era, but relationships are not known.
