I am looking for family Rospendowski / Rozpedowski and their relatives. I know they lived in Chicago in 1890 - ies (and probably later as well). They had relatives in Slupca, Poland. My great-grandfather (Felix Rozpedowski) was born in Chicago in 1891, but his parents (Michal and Lucja nee Maydecki) returned to Poland few years later. I am assuming that some cousins (Rozpedowski or Maydecki) remained in Chicago and that's the part of the family I am looking to find. I know that's not much information to go on, but would appreciate any contact if any of these last names sounds familiar.
I am looking for the Fowler Brothers who started the ANGLO-AMERICAN PACKING & PROVISION Company particularly Robert brother of Anderson Fowler. Robert and Margaret his wife had a malechild born 1880 in cook county. I have found the birth record but just states male no name, I am trying to link this with my grandfather can anyone help either with the family, they were quite well known and rich, originally involved in the hog trade. Robert and his family returned to England either late 1880's or very early 1890's his brother Anderson Fowler seems to have become sole owner of the business. If no knowledge of the family could you tell me how I go about finding either a christening or registration of the child's christian names.
Most of the packing houses were in the Chicago Stock Yard area. This is like 43rd and Halsted, I grew up in this area.. You might have some luck by searcing with the words "Chicago Stock Yards", they show a lot of pictures and history. Good Luck
