I am trying to determine who were Joshuas parents. There are some who believe they were Jacob and Patience Small, others say Josiah and Mouring Ricks. Still others belive he came through eastern Pennsylvania. My line goes from Joshua and Deborah (Unknow) > Joshua and Mary Williams > John N. and Margaret Graham > Alonzo and Julia Annis > Paul M. and Cora Mae Alcorn > James A. and Mary Lou Gregory > William H. (Me). I have also read in a Jordan family bible that three Jordan brothers came across with William Penn. Have searched all records of Penns crossings and ships associated with Penn that I could find and found no proof. I have talked to many Jordans that join my line before Joshua and we all seem to be at this empass. Any help would be appriciated. Bill Jordan
Looking for a little help regarding my Great Grandfather, James Jordan. He was born abt. 1863 in Meelick, County Mayo and died in 1933 in Lislackagh, Swinford, County Mayo. He was said to have been married to a Mary McNicholas (her parents were Edmond McNicholas and Anne Tunney). I believe James' father was Thomas Jordan, but I do not know his mother other than her last name of Shiel or Sheilds.
