I am in Australia and have just finished a Jarman Family History book, which amongst others, is about the family of Thomas Jarman and Martha Barlow, who were among the 1820 British settlers that went to South Africa and lived in Grahamstown.
I thought I had covered everything from there, but if your Jarman is from that family line, I would like to communicate further with you and exchange information. there are various Jarman descendants from that line here in Australia and only yesterday, had their 2012 jarman Reunion. If it suits you, direct contact via my email address pcmkr@bigpond.com may be more suitable.
Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any information on a William Jarman (Jerman or derivative) born C1820 in Suffolk, UK. and later married/lived with a Jane Charlotte Cannavan(or derivative born 1824).
It is believed he was born in Assington, Suffolk.
They had 7 children - William(1851), Mary Ann(1853), Elizabeth(1854), Eliza(1856), Alice(1859), Henry(1862) and Edward(1857)
They later settled in Bermondsey, London and appear on the 1851 census as living in Dockhead, Bermondsey.
