To any one who knows the connection of the Rev John D. Payne buried at New Hope Church Pea Ridge Road Cornelia Ga . I would like to know the connection to the Paynes in South Carolina , North Carolina ,Tennesse, and Kentucky. My great great grand father was the Rev. John D. If any one knows her Madien Name i would appreciate learning that as well. I suspect that she was a Murphy or a Morris but am not certain. If you have any family bibles or geneologies with his children I would also like to know for i suspect that I am related to the other Payne familes that live here in Habersham, Stephens County and Banks County.
I am the Great Granddaughter of Rev. John D. Payne through his son Enoch. Mary L. Murphy is the daughter of Uriah Murphy. From my gecom file that you can get from RootsWeb's World Connect. Dear Kary, I met a lady that said our ansestors were related to the South Carolina Paynes thru the line of Opal Payne who is still living. I have not yet been able to contact her but she is suppose to know John D Payne's South Carolina relatives.
I am the great great grand daugter of John D Payne thru Enoch Payne and his son( my father) Joe Payne who is still living you could probably contact my father for more info on the payne family.
I know Rayge, I saw him a few months ago, in church. My father is Joe Payne, he and Rayge are first cousins. Most of what I know is located in the gedcom file I refrenced above. You can email me at bloodviolet@gmail.com. Ask me whatever you want, if I know I'll tell you... I might even be able to dig up some old family photos to share.
