Hi, I'm looking for info on my gggrandfather, Maberry Hitt. He was supposedly born in 1823 in Laurens Co, SC--cannot confirm. I have proof that he was in the confederate army from AL, and I have his marriage certificate to Clara Copeland in Jefferson Co AL in 1866---then in 1870, 1880 census he is in Blount Co, AL. That's about all I have that I can prove. He has been my brick wall for about three years now. Anyone who is looking for a challenge, this is it....I've even had a pro try with no luck.
