Wandering if you have found any more information? My great-grandmother was Catherine Lucille Langbein married to Forest Isam Hartley. They were married 21 July 1919. I'm not sure of much more info backwards.
I am wworking on the Artley family. Originally from Germany as Erdle. Johann Heinrich Erdle born around 1675. A decendant of his came to America on the British ship London Billander and landed in Philadelphia in 1738. Name was changed Oerdley on the ship and its manifest but changed back to Erdle and then to Artley before 1795. Some spellings were Hartley, Erdley, and Ertley. Does any of this show up in your search? Warren Artley firstname.lastname@example.org Bradenton, FL.
I seek information about the family of Tom amd Evelyn Smith Hartley, of 33 Tremont Street, Lawrence Mass, 1889. The parents of Alexander Smith Hartley, father of Heather Grace Hartley in Los Angeles, 1938. He was Chief Field Inspector for Kaiser Engineering on several dam projects in the West. Shasta Dam, in Northern California being one of them. He also served in the U.S. Military in ww 1. He married Grace Havey in Los Angeles in 1936. He may have had two sons, Alexander Smith Hartley Jr. and Jim Hartley, by a previous marriage. We have no idea if he had siblings of either gender, but there are suggestions of a possible brother.
Tom hartley, father of Alexander, was born in England. Immigration date is unknown, as is his date of birth. Evelyn Smith, Alexander's mother, was born in the US. Date and place unknown. They are relatives of my dance partner and she knows very little of her heritage. I would certainly like to assist her in this area and help her answer questions about her family! We both wll appreciate any asistance, or the least bit of enlightenment in how to proceed.
