My name is Jennifer (Graham) Burton. I have been doing my family genealogy for the past two years or so. I have managed to trace back the Graham side to Ireland. I have two ancestors that I have traced, James Graham born abt. 1791 in Ireland. I have no idea who his spouse was but have his son, who was also born in Ireland and even married somewhere there, Matthew Graham born in 1825, he married a Martha "Mattie" Fulton in Ireland. They came over to the US sometime thereafter and both passed in Crestline, Cherokee, Kansas and are buried in Edgmand Cemetery, Columbus, Cherokee, Kansas. Both graves are very old Matthew's has been broken and is dire need of replacement but I don't want to do so yet until I have more information on him that I may add to the headstone. Mattie, his wife is buried next to him and her grave is still in tact but is old and wearing due to the elements quickly.
If anyone has any information on these two I would greatly appreciate it. Here is the exact information I have on both Martha "Mattie" and Matthew Graham. The only info I had on Matthew's father is listed above.
Martha "Mattie" Fulton - Graham born 22 Nov 1833 in Ireland. Died 2 Mar 1908 Crestline, Cherokee, Kansas, USA.
Matthew Graham born in 1825 in Ireland. Died 9 Jan 1883 in Cherokee County, Kansas, USA
I have information on the decedents of Matthew and Mattie Graham.
I am searching for information on John Graham from Broughshane, Antrim, Ireland. John married Jane Magill, Kenbally, b. 3rd Feb 1816. They had 3 daughters, Mary Warwick, b 1845,came to Australiain 1864 and married Edward Somerville. Jane Magill, B 1846, came to Aust. with her sister, married William McKinney, and Sarah, b 1850 who married Alexander Wasson in Ireland and moved to Scotland around 1880. The only other details I have is that John had a Grocers shop in Broughshane and had some sort of connection to the Thatch Inn, also owned by Graham's, and after Jane (wife) died John married Rachael Forbes on 5 Dec 1854.
John was my Great-great Grandfather and I would like to know more about him.I have a reasonable amount of info on the Magill side if it is of interest to others.
