I too am searching my family tree and I cannot seem to find anything in regards to my grandmother's family.
My grandmother, Winnifred Flynn, comes from Frog Marsh, Newfoundland, Canada. I found the names of her sibblings on a NFLD Census from 1921. On this census also appears her parents: Denis Flynn (Born August 1883 in Frog Marsh, NFDL) and Anastasia Ryan (Born October 1893 in Colliers, NFDL). And at the time, her grandfather William Flynn (Born July 1845 in Frog Marsh, NFDL) was alive and living with them.
My grandmother moved to the province of Quebec in 1934 and married my grandfather, Joseph Fourneaux, in 1939. I know by the marriage certificat that my great-grandfather Denis was still alive, but my greatgrandmother Anastasia was deceased.
Well i guess just like everyone else i am researching my family tree. My farther is Kenneth Francis John Flynn (1947) of Ormskirk, Lancashire and my Mother is Muriel Bimpson (1944) of Ormskirk, Lancashire. I have a brother Anthony Richard Flynn (1981), Ormskirk, Lancashire and have half siblings Tracy Georgina Bimpson (1967), and David Bimpson-Thorpe (1968) farther Dennis Thorpe of Southport whom is now deceased.
Like most i have searched major channels of ansestry and would be greatful for any one whom is looking for the same surname. I understand the FLYNN family has various strands and is extremely common but i am prepared to explore all avenues.
I to have a time researching my family. I have no ideal when the first Flynn came to america, but since that time most of my branch where born and raised in Kentucky or tennessee. In fact my mother Christine E. Flynn was born in a small town that is now covered over with water behind a dam erected where Burnside Kentucky use to be. Having contacted the historicaL society in that area I was able to obtain a book about the flynn family. but sadly it only covered three generations. with speculation about those further back. Any information I have is strictly about those flynn that have been in the united states for the last 100 or so years. Could this be of interest to you? my flynns came to america 1839. it was 3 brothers myles thomas and james . i dont know any of thier ancesters before they came to america. because myles family disowened him because he went from catolic faith to baptist faith. if your tree is any thing like this please tell me.
