Franz Fischer is my great grandfather. He emigrated to South Australia in 1848 with wife Johanne Christienne (Held) and 1 child, from Silesia. I would like to trace his ancestors - his father was also Franz, from Schwerin, Silesia and his mother Christienne. Any help would be appreciated
I I am also of a fischer family.I live in NewYork state.My grandfather's name was Edward John. He had a brother by the name of John,also more siblings names Frank,Emil,Anna,Marie(Mary),John. My grandfather was the youngest-born 1888/9. Came to this country in 1902 from Bohemia (Germany).I am not sure of many of siblings wereabouts other than the Wisconson state. Ramona; My name is Alberta Fischer Averiette. I have a grand father, Edward(Ewald) John Fischer,whom was the youngest of 6 children. His brothers were : Frank, John, and Emil and sisters: Mary (Marie) and Anna. They immagrated here from Germany in about 1902,born in 1886. Came in thru Ellis Island at age 16,he was the youngest of the family.Stayed with an Uncle Wenzel Gregor in Red Wing or Hastings until he marriedThen lived in River Falls,Wi until about 1926-7. His parents' names were Frank and Rosalia (Gregor).The area in Germany they left was at that time called Bohemia. His sister Anna was married in 1904 to Frank Joseph Janovec.whom they have/had a son by the name of Frank August whom still lived on his father's original property when they came here from Bohemia. The siblings came to this country a few at a time. Frank August had 2 brothers that I know of Edward Joseph Born 1907 and Arnold born 1910. If this is any help-I do have more info of other members and photos. I too am looking for decendents in the wisconsin areas.
