I am looking for info on my Great Grandfather Noah Drew. DOB 18 Feb 1856 ~ DOD 5 July 1933 in Kansas City MO. At the time of his death he was married to Dora May (Wilson) Drew (5 Oct 1868~26 Oct 1958). Her parents were James and Mary J Polluck Wilson. Thank you for any help.
Hi Sharon, There's a Jackson, Missouri marriage record for a Noah W Drew b abt 1858, who m. in 1907 Dora Wilson b abt 1876.
Noah W Drew also shows in the 1856 Montrose, Iowa census as age 0, b. in Missouri; and in the 1870 Federal census for Omaha, NB as age 14, b. 1856 in Missouri. Parents are William A. Drew b. abt 1832, Illinois, and Elizabeth Drew b. abt 1842 in Virginia. The 1880 census shows Noah as "Noah M Drew". It also says William A. Drew's parents were from Tennessee. The family is now in Jackson County, Missouri.
I don't know anything about the Tennessee branch of the Drew family, but hope the above is useful.
Thank you for the info. Are you related to Noah? My father, Jasper Newton Drew, would never tell us anything about his parents or any other relatives. I grew up thinking he had only one brother, Joseph. I did find out after Daddy died in 2002 that he had a brother who only lived a few hours and two sisters named Rosa and Bulauh. I have a copy of the infant's death certificate but know nothing about the sisters. I also know Daddy had several step siblings. One step-brother was named Theodore Thompson who died about 1985 or 6 in Klamath Falls Idaho.
My mother used to say we were descendants of thepoet Robert Burns. but any time we ever said anything about looking into Daddy's family he would say, "S**t, you don't want to do that. All that I got in my family are horse thieves, cattle rustlers and US Marshalls. And sometimes it was the same guy." I would much rather find that cattle rustling, horse thievin' marshall than find out I really am decended from Robert Burns.
looking for info on maternal gmom Louise Drew born 10/20/1916 (Delaware) - lived in/around Upper Darby PA in 1935 where our mother was born (according to birth cert.
