I am researching the family of Benjamin Richard Craft, Sr, who . was my GG Grandfather. Any information regarding this family would be greatly appreciated. I'm particularly interested in connecting with any of the men in this line who either have or would be willing to participate the the Craft DNA project. Thanks!
Not sure whether our Benjamin Craft is your Benjamin Craft or not but would like to try to determine if they are one and the same. The only information I have is a possible birth year of 1785, possibly born in North Carolina and married (1815 Pulaski, GA) to Jane Spencer Gay . One son was Spencer Craft b. 1815 - d.3 Jul 1883. Benjamin would be my 4th Great Grandfather. Wonder if there is some connection to your Craft's? Thanks!
My Benjamin Richard Craft was born in1776 in Md. At some point he and his brother David Jonathan Craft both show up in Botetourt Co, Va Benjamin married Sarah (Sallie) Becker. One of their sons was John Spencer, who was my great grandfather. I'm not aware of any of my Crafts living anywhere south of Va.
Thanks for responding to my message, and best of luck in your research!
The line of Crafts that I'm researching lived in Georgia, mainly in Elbert and Hart Counties, and occationally crossing over into Anderson County, South Carolina. My line: is Willis Craft (1908-1874) -> William Anderson Craft (1894-1909) -> George Robert Craft (1865-1935 AL) -> Bennie England Craft (1896-1977) -> Thomas Spurgeon Craft (1919-2000).
I've got a good amount of information on this family but am always looking for more!
