I'm looking for information on Mary France Collins born Aug. 1871. Mary married William C. Carter in 1888. Mary children was Nancy Jane Carter, William Carter , Nora Carter ,Anna Carter , John Carter, Etta Carter, and Thomas Carter. Does any one know who was Mary's parents? William Yardbourgh Ferguson and Anna Robinson can't be her parents if you look at birth dates William would have been too young ,Anna not even born yet.Our Mourning was born 1781.I believe from the Collins bible info on net that her parents were Adams Ferguson and Elizabeth Finley the dates work ,saw on Roots web message board that William and Anna had a da named Mourning I. Ferguson who married into the Whiley Family. Would really love to verify my Mourning"s parents,I am also stuck on Thomas Collins parentage and where his family came from one message board on Ances.com says father was a William Benjamin Collins from Va. but no souce.Collins bible seems to start with him. William Jackson "Buck" Collins and Sarah "Sallie" Dye-their son John Thomas Collins -1831-1863-died in Civil War and Patience Fennel Williams Collins-their son John Jackson Collins and Martha Sparks Collins,they had 4 children my grandmother was Carrie Lee Collins Holler-1892-1987 and George Turner Holler-1893 -1918,my dad was their son George Turner Holler Jr born in Rock Hill met my mom Theresa Ardolino Holler in Ct during WW2 and stayed there after war,we were all born and raised there,our summer vacations were to the great city of Rock Hill in the 50's and 60's,imagine that!!!!!!!!!There was literally nothing there,the growth is amazing.Whose child was Sally EJ Collins?Must be one of the siblings of Buck,John Thomas,or John Jackson.I have info on the Ardolino my heritage site if you want to join,you can look. She was actually Sarah Elizabeth Jane Collins, daughter of James Wesley Collins, b. 14July1836 and Elizabeth Amelia Ann Cathcart b. 14Sep1849, m. 14Sep1858 (her 19th birthday).
I grew up in Indian Land with a bunch of Collins kin. Sallie Collins Wilson had 10 kids, My GF Jimmy Wilson (her oldest) had 10 children and 26 grandchildren. John Collins's children and grandchildren were in the community also. Cammie Collins, Green Collins's daughter (if I remember correctly) married my great uncle Charlie Harris in Indian Land and they had 6 or 8. In the 80s I compiled a list of Sallie Collins and Daniel Wilson's descendants and I had 275 or so then. Ruby Hood Shealy (her mother was a Collins) did a lot of work on the Collins family
Wanted to let you know my sister in law found some info on ancestry.com about Thomas Collins parents -William Benjamin Collins1763-1810 and Elizabeth Betsy Ballintine-1750-1796- Elizabeth came to Charleston SC by unknown ship in 1767,still don't know where either are from.
