Hi mike I'm afraid I have ignored this site a bit but I know that there are alot of Byards in USA in fact I know that there are some in canada too (one of my dads cousins went there) one of my great great great uncles married a girl from virginia and half of thier children seem to have been born there,but the way I know that there must be alot of Byards inUSA is that I went to florida a couple of years ago and no-one there said oh thats an unusual name which is what i get over here and every one knew how to spell it without asking. I would be very interested to know how Byards got to Britain in the first place I seem to have stalled when I got to the end of the written census records it is very frustrating as i can follow my mothers family back further and her surname is quite common (parker) and I would have thought that it would have been more difficult.
