I'm looking for any ancestors of Patrick and Rose M. Burns , both came from Ireland and resided in Kellys Island, Erie County, Ohio. They had several children one of which was my ggrandmother, Eliza, born about 1857. She married Thomas Burke, who also came from Ireland. They resided in Stamford, Connecticut.. If there are any Burn's related to Patrick and Rose still living in Kellys Island, I would like to hear from you.
I stumbled across you request for information about your great grandmother. I come from a long line of the Burns family and my grandmother had a sister Elva. I know it is not the same but sometimes a person is named with a variation of an ancestor's name. I was wondering if you have any connection to the Burns family line from Nova Scotia. If you do I can help you trace your line back to the early 1700's.
On my Mom's side (her nameIf you are still "into" genealogy I hope to hear from you soon. was Pridham) I have a definite link back to the early 1600's and a sporadic link back to approximately 1050, just before the time of William The Conquerer.
Just in case you are wondering that is NOT a misprint LOL.
