i don't have specific in fo on your family sadly but wondered if you have used the website www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk ?? i have found it easy to use and if you have a narrow enough search criteria you should be able to get somewhere. read their guides before you begin. they do charge to view records but if you have enough info to get your searches right first time you will get 5 records for £6 - less, obvioulsy if you hit the wrong people (as i have many a time). you might find it difficult going back much further than 1855 if your family were Catholic as compulsory registration did not come in until then. catholics were supposed to register their events with the local church of scotland but many would be unlikely to do so !! i know this from my own research too!!!
Hi Looking for info on Stephen and Charlotte Nash (my great grandparents)living in Maybole and Troon 1900s for purposes of Family Tree. They had 9 children. Charlotte died in 1904 in Troon. Any info really appreciated.Thank-you.
My name is Lance Baillie and I am a Grandson of David Ferguson Freeland born in Glasgow in 18/3/1883 the son ofJohn Freeland and Susan(Andrew). David ,s Sister Jean Morrison, lived at "Urana" Irvine Road, Kilwinning,Ayrshire. I believe another relative was Jean Gordon who went to live with her sister in Saltcoats after the death of her Father. Also understand that David Freeland ,s Grandmother and Grandfather are Buried at the Church(do not know which church) in Kilwinning. If any of this is known to any Descendents of David I would be most appreciative of your contact.. I understand John Freeland along with David and other members migrated to Australia in the late 1800,s. IN anticipation I thank you for your interest and possible contact. Kindest Regards Lance Baillie, Warrnambool, Victoria Australia.
