The Bodnar Y-DNA Project is for all carriers of the Bodnar surname (and its variants) who wish to work together to find their common heritage through Y-DNA testing and sharing of information. All variant spellings are welcome. If your Surname spelling is missing, we'll be glad to add it to our list of surnames.
The Bodnar Y-DNA Surname Project is established to assist in confirming Bodnar lineages. If you descend from a Bodnar line, participating in this DNA project could help your research considerably and/or provide some much needed proof and direction for further research.
The tests are done on the Y-chromosome which is passed from father to son, and from him to his son, etc., thus participants must be male and must have the a variant of the Bodnar surname all the way down the male line. If you are a female and wish to have your Bodnar line participate in the Project, a male cousin, uncle, brother, etc., can provide the DNA for your line.
