I am looking for any information post 1901 England & Wales census relating to William Edward Baldwin.
This man was my maternal grandfather; he was born Aug 1, 1889 to Rose Elizabeth Baldwin, no mention of a father.
On the 1901 census, he was recorded as living with his grandparents, mother (single) and older sister Grace May Baldwin.
At some point in his life, his surname was changed to Holland. I cannot find any record of him on the 1911 census. His sister Grace came to Canada in 1909 with the Barnardo Children's Home, where she remailned from that time until her passing in 1980. She reained the surnam of Baldwin until she married.
I have found reference to William on voters lists as an adult, but don't know what happened to him between 1901 and 1920. He married Lydia Ash in 1923. He passed away Oct 9, 1973
Hi, My Wife Sarah is trying to search for members of her family. We have traced her Great Grandmother to a Suzannah Elizabeth Trowell, born in 1864 in Boughton Monchelsea. In the 1911 census she was apparently living in chapel street East Malling named as Head of the house with her son Frederick George. In the 1901 census she and her son were living with her Sister, Alice A Turrell at Mill street East malling which is where the trowel family home was.
As far as we can make out Their Father was Charles Trowell, Born in 1837 at Boughton monchelsea, living at Pratling street Aylesford in 1871 and in 1891 it looks like he moved to plaxtol near Wrotham Heath.
We know that Suzannah was a single Mother and we think that at some time she was in domestic service at "Twisden Hall" which is now East Malling Research Station. so far we seem to have hit a brick wall in researching further.
Apparently there were families with the surname Trowell living at "The Rocks " area in East Malling but we have never been able to contact them.

Hi, I am the great grandson of George & Emma Johnson whose son William Frederick Johnson was born at Ashford, Kent, inabout 1891. William emigrated to Australia in 1900 and was married in Brisbane, Australia in 1921 but died later in 1943. Little is known of his parents other than his father was an Inspector of Railways.
What years was A.H.De'Ath a Photographer (by himself) in Ashford? I have a number of carte de visite's of family relatives that I am trying to date/identify. I know he was born in approx 1853 and died in West Ashford in 1931. Thankyou, Shirl Miller
