I am almost certain my Great-Grandfather James Orchard is the James Orchard baptised 27 March 1803, Old Sodsbury son of James Orchard 1763 Yate/1851 Old Sodbury and Hannah Carter. I want to sponsor a Y-DNA of a living male Orchard from the area to confirm if my South African Orchards ancestors were from the area. I am looking for the father and mother of this man in born in Cheltenham, Gloustershire - he was born in 1794 and married Betty (?Somers). I think the father was also Thomas Bastin and the mother was Ann - last name unknown. The family story is that they were Hugonots from France originally. Can anyone confirm any of these facts.
