My great, great grandfather came to the United States, initially settling in New York City, and then moved to Sandusky, Ohio. His name was Johan Lederer, a music teacher who was known to have a tree growing in his house. He was born in 1837 and his wife, Ana was born in 1834. I am not sure of the exact emigration date, but he served in the Civil War and was registered in March of 1865. Please if you have any information I am deeply interested. I am looking for his parents and siblings. I have USA information, but nothing prior to 1865.
Hi Jane -- I was just looking around re Solothurn Canton and came across your message of almost a year ago. I have ancestors who came from Kienberg, Solothurn. We are probably not related, but I think I can point you to some information, if you are still looking. Reply here if you like, but email is better. Mine is jomarlin@bellsouth.net. I am also a MyHeritage member; my tree is visible to everyone, I think, as the Wilson-Zimmerly families. I'll send you a link via email. Don't think it will work here.
