Hello Albert Barnett'"s naqme was listed as Barnet on manifest of ship mosel out of Bremen Germany 27 may 1878. I think his name in Prussia may have been Berndt.
I just saw the castle garden record you are referring to and it said he was born in Germany. I have no knowledge of any familiy from their. Sorry....good luck

I saw your request for info on the Barnett family and wondered if we were perhaps related. I have a GG grand father called William who had a son Albert. I have only recently found out who was Gran was and found her family line which is where the link could be. I also wondered if you were related to a Hilda Sills I went to St,Michael's in Bloemfontein as your surname is not a very common one.
