Is there anyone out there who has connections to or information about the Sandford family of India? Leslie Harrison Sandford married Dorothy Young born 1900? I have quite a lot of information on the Youngs but very little on the Sandford family. Please help if you can,
Not sure of the relevence, but my great grandmother was an Ethel Browne, lived in India, married a major in the British army, John Frederick Baldrey. She passed away in Vancouver, BC, Canada in 1962. The Brownes in this case were purported to be instrumental in the beginnings of the tea plantations around 1830. When she passed, someone said "the last of the great Brownes of India". Not sure of the details, but her husband was born in Ooticumund, their children were born there, one of which is my grandmother, Irene Hilda Baldrey (became Bedwin). My mother, Mary Muriel Gladys Bedwin (later Scott) was also born there in Quetta, now part of Pakistan, but then India. Perhaps there is a relationship.
In my family tree I am searching for these families, can any one shed any light on this family please as it would be a great help.

In my family tree I have Palmer Family, are any one from this family in your family tree.
Nicholas Palmer married to Marry Ann Gourley, and they had a daughter Ada Louise Georgiana Palmer, born December 1872 in Bengal India and also christened on the 17th December 1872.
Ada Louise Georgiana Palmer married to Daniel Speechly who had twin sons: Leslie James and Victor Albert Speechley born 22nd May 1903, and Baptised 21st April 1917 Bombay India.
I have a fair idea that Ada Louise Georgiana Speechly died 10 days after her twins were born, that would be around 6th June 1903 in Bombay India. When the twins were born they mad a mistake in their birth certificate where it has the surname, it should have read Leslie and Victor Speechly nor Speechley. As you can see the mistake that they did with the surname.
Can any one shed some light on this family, as I have not hit a brick wall. If you wish to contact me this is my email:- ljb2@iprimus.com.au
