Ferencz Palko born Oct 16, 1869 in Hungary. We believe he came through Ellis Island May 4, 1892.  He applied for citizenship in Spencer, Tioga County, New York in May 24, 1897 and was naturalized Dec 31, 1899.  He was know in the US as Frank Palko he moved to Coopersville,  Michigan  from Phillipsburg, New Jersey after his daughter Maria's death in 1921 to be with her husband  Karoly (Charles) Buzas and Frank's grand children Margaret, Frank, and Charles.  He died in Eastmanville, Michigan in the Ottawa County Infirmary May 1939 and is buried in a marked grave in the Maple Cemetary in Lamont, MIchigan.  He had a relative in Beloit, Wiscosin named Peter who we believe to be his brother or cousin.

His daughter Maria Palko was born Sept 20, 1893 , Hungary on grand daughter Margaret's baptism certificate  it states Maria was from Botfalva, Hungary, she died in Trenton, NJ, March 10, 1921 from TB, she was only 28,  leaving three small children and a husband Karoly (Charles)Buzas whom she married in South River, New Jersey Oct 3, 1911 her licence states it was the first marriage for both.  On her marriage application it states her mother was Zuzie Nagy or (Vagy) and her father Frank Palko. On the Warren County, Phillipsburg, New Jersey 1920 cencus it is written she came to US in 1902 but I can only find a January 23, 1903 arrival on the SS Patricia a Maria age 13 and male child Erzsi Palko age 10 coming to join her father Ferencz.  The adult she was with Anna Kovacs from Botfalva, Hungary.   Perhaps that cencus arrival information was not from Maria but someone that was off by 23 days.  Can anyone help me?  Margaret Buzas Ruch,  Maria's daughter and Ferencz's grand daughter is my husbands mother.  Thank you.
