I have been doing Arney, family research for 35 years, and I have never heard the mention of Peter Arney's Journal, have any of you?
I was sent an email, who stated that one of her relatives, had seen Peter Arney's Journal, and that it talked about Peter Arney running away after being bound to John Fullenwider (Fulenwider), in 1787, to live with family in Virginia.
Should this journal be found, it would explain, why Peter Arney left Lincoln County, North Carolina, and went to Wythe County, Virginia. Where he met and married his Wife, Margaret (Surname/Maiden name, unknown).
Now, the person also stated, that she confronted the family, that "supposedly" had this journal, and they claim they have never seen it.
Has anyone else heard this story, about Peter Arney's Journal?
Thank you, for your time, consideration, and cooperation, I truly appreciate it.
Jacob Arney, left behind his Will, dated in 1782, and though it still exists to this day (held at the North Carolina State Archives, in Raleigh, North Carolina), it yields little information about him or his family. You see, regarding his Will, the ink has faded over time, and only the lower 1/3-1/2, is still readable, and only the name of his wife (at the time), Elizabeth, can be read/seen. Perhaps, the rest of his Will, may have provided more clues about his family, perhaps even naming some of them.
With Jacob Arney's death, so did the possible likelihood of finding out, who his siblings were and who his parents were. Which in turn, may lead to where he was born, where his siblings were born, where his parents were born, etc.
Though we do have some leads, as to his family and children.

Jacob Arney, obviously, was in the area of York(town), York County, Pennsylvania, at least as early as 1750.
York County, Pennsylvania was originally Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, from 1729-1749.
Therefore the search for clues, on Jacob Arney (and his family), reside in Pennsylvania, more precisely, in Lancaster and York Counties.
If this mystery is ever to be solved, it's going to take the coordinated efforts of many individuals, not just me.
Thank you, for your time, consideration, and cooperation, I truly appreciate it.
Tennessee > Virginia > North Carolina > Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania, at least 1750 to 1767
North Carolina, 1767 to 1793
Virginia, 1793-1799
Tennessee, 1799 to present
Peter Arney was born in Tryon County, North Carolina in 1772.
His father was Jacob Arney and one of his brothers was Christian Arney, Sr.
Jacob Arney died in 1784 in Lincoln County, NC. Christian Arney, Sr. died in Lincoln County, NC in 1834.
In 1787, Peter Arney, at the age of 15, was bound over by the court to a John Fulenwider, to learn the trade of a miller until the age of 21.
In 1793, Peter Arney moved to Wythe County, VA, where he married and began his family.
In 1799, Peter Arney moved his family to Tennessee, where he died in what was Overton County, TN in 1845.
Christian Arney, Sr. was born in York, York County, PA in 1750.
Jacob Arney's whereabouts prior to 1750 are unclear. His siblings and parents are unclear.
What is known, is that Jacob Arney was NOT the son of a Frederick Ernigh, who arrived in the USA in 1732. That Jacob, died in PA and therefore could not have also died in NC!
I seek information to continue tracing my branch of the Arney's by finding DTP (Definitive Tangible Proof) of Jacob Arney, his siblings, his parents, etc.
