Anne left behind a wealth of beautifully preserved information contained inside a Family Bible which we're willing to share. Many family photos also available. I'm also in contact with descendants of Annie Armstrong in UK and Elizabeth Armstrong's descandants living in Washington DC area. My wife is a descendant of Wm Armstrong Jr from NZ so we have much information also available on his hundreds of descendants.
I'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM ANYONE WITH POSSIBLE MATCH TO ANNE OR WM OR SIMPLY WORKING ON ARMSTRONG OR BEATTY FAMILIES IN THIS AREA OF IRELAND.
***CHECK OUT OLD ARMSTRONG & BEATTY FAMILY PHOTOS ON MY BLOG: http://beattyarmstrong.blogspot.com/
Just wanted to say that I posted some new information on my Armstrong-Beatty Blog that may point to the missing link between the two families. I don't have everything tied together yet, but it's getting closer. Have a look at the info. on my blog and let me know whet you think: http://beattyarmstrong.blogspot.com/
I am looking for any relations of Robert James Armstrong born 1916 in Harlepool, particularly on his fathers' side of the family. I believe his father may have died when he was only quite young. I am trying to map out my family tree. I do know his mother was called Elizabeth Olive Hewitson, more commonly known as Olive.
I forgot to mention, in addition to the old family Bible, we also have a selection of old Armstrong Family Photos, including Mervyn Jame's Mother, Anne Beatty (Armstrong) and several of Jame's siblings. Do you have any photos of your James Armstrong? I think they all look so much alike, especially the nose. It's very distinct and English. My wife has the same nose many generations later. Thought this detail might help in your search.
I'm really intrigued with your search. I just posted a message under Armstrong as well as Beatty and I have a (Mervyn) James Armstrong who was the brother of my wife's 2nd Grt Grandfather (Wm.) who died young (Age 27) and is buried at Laghy Graveyard in Ireland. Little more is know of him so it could be a long shot. I haven't done any research on him to see if he was ever married or had any children and this little bit of information came from an old family bible also in the UK.
It's interesting to note that our James Armstrong had a sister named Annie and his mother's name was also Anne. Now you can see my interest in your search, Ann.
If you think this could be a match for you. let me know and I'll forard your information on to Cousin Claire who's also in the UK. (She's a descendant of Annie Armstrong.)
