Is there a way to find local US newspaper obituaries online? I've found sites that will charge me $5 to do all kinds of background checks, but can I do them myself? What if they were published within the past 10-15 years? The same problem with looking up phone numbers and addresses. I used to be able to go in thru "White Pages" or similar, but now I can't find info that way on the doctors in my home town if I had a headache.
My name is Mike. I live in the greater Vancouver BC Canada area. I am willing to do Obit look ups in the following newspapers. The Vancouver Sun, The Province, The Columbian, and The Victoria Times Colonist. Please leave me the name and dates and I will see if I can find a obit for you. I do not charge for my time, I just charge for public transportation to and from wher I have to go.
Hi, I'm looking for my great-grandfather's 1st wife who died young and left him a widower, family history believes she was from Skowhegan or Madison maybe. His name was Arthur Perry Hopkins and he was from Plymouth, Maine, he was born in 1870. He married a women some time before 1898 and they lived in Boston, Massachusetts for a while. After she past away he met and married Mamie Meader from Solon, Maine who was my great-grand mother. Grandpa's 1st wife is just someone that I would like to find to add her to our family history. So if you have a married aunt that past away without having had any children that might be Grandpa's 1st love if you could let me know, thanks in advance. Margaret E Hopkins magrockgem@yahoo.com
My great grandfather was born circa 1860 in Birmingham England. Unknown when he arrived in Australia. He was a widower when he married Sarah Blackwell 5th April 1889. They had 5 children...Elizabeth Maud,Florence May,Charles Clarence Albert,Margaret Myrtle and Francis. Sarah died 26th January 1897 and the children were raised by their maternal grandparents in Cobar NSW. Charles whereabouts were unknown until 1923 when he received his son's medals following his death during WW1 he gave his address as Milson's Point. . Charles then disappears again. It is possible that he remarried. Any information would be most grateful.
I have just had a memory of talk of Pops father owning a dairy at Milsons Point a very successful milkman, he lost all his money in the bank crash, I wonder now if it was Nannas father not Pops. will see what I can find
My name is Roslyn Kyle, and Charles Evans was also my Great- Grandfather. My grandmother was Florence May his second daughter. Nanna lived in Clayfield in Qld all her married life until her death in the early 60's. I'm sorry I can't give you any more information about Charles, I was surprised when I read their were five chrildren, I only ever knew of three.
Florence May and Edward Stevenson had 4 chrildren----- Iris who died at 21 of asthma. Philip ( my father) who lived a full life until age 76------Neville who passed 10 years ago of Heart attack ,and Allison who passed away years ago, sorry I can't remember the year. I know none of this tells you anything about Charles other than we never met him. and that we are another branch of the family.
