If you dont get the yellow bar for the download check to see if you are blocking pop ups. sometimes that will prevent it from downloading. hope this helps.
The yellow bar you need to right click and and select to allow the download. It is an app to help your search work. If you have downloaded the family tree builder to your computor and the family toolbar then you will be able to research and auto update your site too! Hope this helped.
I agree with Lewis. There is no yellow bar and when I do research , when it's my own parents and I know the dates, nothing comes up - do you actually have to subscribe to myHeritage to do all this???? are there no free sites out there in genealogy world?
Hi Joan, Two suggestions that might help you. Try the message boards on Genealogy.com site. Costs nothing and you will find that incredibly helpful volunteers will respond. Also give the RAOGK site a try. You choose your volunteer where you need them. The only cost is their expenses. I found a guy who has helped me enormously and refuses compensation! John
You do not have to sign up for anything more than a free account wich gives you up to 250 people. the research button takes a while to load because it is searching so many other sites ,some free and some paid. You can utillize the family tree builder from your computor and then upload information and here is a site free that I have found very useful for reseach.https://www.familysearch.org/ i have found this to be invaluable site for research.
Patricia don't despair. Two suggestions you may care to follow. I've met online some very helpful volunteers by posting on Genealogy.com site. No charge and they respond to your query very fast and comprehensively. Second, give the RAOGK site a try. You choose your volunteer in the part of the World you need. No cost except their reasonable expenses. I met a guy in the US who is brilliant and will not accept any compenasation! Hope this helps.
I agree with the frustration. And, I haven't been able to decipher one of your emailed printed reports of my family tree, or anything. MyHeritage.com is smelling more and more like a big rip off...Thanks alot. Patti F.
If you use the tools on the site you will find them helpful and if you started your tree with whatever information you do know and work slowly you can click on the smart match button to see if your information matches any other sites on my heritage, it will show you the matches and you can compare info and link to other persons site for questions when you find matches. its confusing at first but once you figure out how to get around the site its not so hard. first starting is always the toughest part. I spend more time using the tree builder than anything else and then when I add information I look for matches that help me add to mine or maybe help someone else add to theirs.
