Witam! Jestem z Gniezna w Polsce. Moja babcia, Alicja Dyczek (zd. Mikołajczak, ur. 1930 r.) opowiada mi często o tym, jak mój pra pra dziadek, tzn. jej dziadek od strony jej mamy, Pelagii Mikołajczak (zd. Wojtkowiak, ur. 1903 r.), wypłynął do USA "za chlebem". Zostawił córkę (wspomnianą wyżej Pelagię) oraz żonę, czyli moją pra pra babcię, a później wysłał im bilety na prom, by do niego przypłynęły. Wiem, że one nie popłynęły, bo się bały, więc sprzedały bilety i kontakt jakoś się urwał. Wiadomo jest, że pra pra dziadek Wojtkowiak miał jednak kontakt z jakąś naszą rodziną z Witkowa, jakimiś kuzynami, pisał do nich listy przez jakiś czas, z których wynika, że założył nową rodzinę w USA. Prawdopodobnie Wojtkowiak wypłynął do USA między 1903 a 1910 czy jakoś tak, bo Pelagia, była wtedy bardzo mała. Co więcej - kiedy Pelagia jeszcze żyła (zmarła w 1981 roku), to opowiadała mojej mamie, czyli swojej wnuczce, że jej ojciec, wspomniany Wojtkowiak, płynął tym statkiem do miasta Toledo w stanie Ohio nad jeziorem Michigan. Podobno znała ona nawet cały adres (!), ale niestety dziś go nikt już nie pamięta. Jestem ciekaw, czy uda mi się dojść do tego, czy mamy tam jakąś rodzinę.

My grandmother, Alicja Dyczek, (nee Mikołajczak, born in 1930), often narrates stories about my great-great-grandfather, her grandfather from her mother's side, I mean Pelagia Mikołajczak (nee Wojtkowiak, born in 1903). And this great-great-grandfather sailed to the USA for job and money, leaving his wife and little daughter Pelagia, and later he send them tickets for ship, so they can arrive to him. But they were scared so Pelagia's mother, my great-great-grandmother, sold this tickets and there was no contact with her husband Wojtkowiak anymore. I just know that Wojtkowiak wrote letters to his family, cousins from Witkowo (small city near Gniezno) for short time. We know that he probably settled-down in the USA and he had new family there. He sailed to the USA between 1903 and maybe 1910 I think, because Pelagia was little girl when he left them. While Pelagia was still alive (she died in 1981) she talked to my mother and rest of family and she told that Wojtkowiak, her father, sailed to the Toledo city in Ohio state. She even has known all adress (!) but today nobody remember this. I am curious is there, in the USA, any our family.
Da ich in der normalen Ahnenforschung nicht weitergekommen bin, mache ich seit drei Jahren die DNA Ahnenforschung mit bis jetzt magerem Erfolg. Das einzige, was dabei herausgekommen ist, ist das hier: http://www.igenea.com/index.php?c=91&story=20 Tagebuchaufzeichnungen meines Großvaters und meine genetischen Daten, mit denen ich nur in väterlicher Linie 89 Personen mit 25 Marker gefunden habe und in mütterlicher Linie ganze 5 Personen in HVR1. Das Urvolk in väterlicher und mütterlicher Linie lasse ich jetzt nochmal neu bestimmen, mit dem FamilyFinder bei Igenea über Familytreedna. Das Labor hat schließlich Familytreedna.com und meine Daten sind alle bei Familytreedna in der Datenbank gespeichert, Igenea.com arbeitet mit Familytreedna.com zusammen. Jetzt hätte ich die Daten gerne mit myheritage kombiniert, aber ich finde den Familytreedna Button im Tab nicht. Wenn ich die DNA Tests über myheritage bei Familytreedna gemacht hätte und nicht über Igenea, dann wäre wahrscheinlich der Button vorhanden.
