I'm in a web development class this summer, and for my final project, I'm going to make a web page that organizes all the family history information I've been gathering and presents it in a reasonably attractive way.
As part of my assignment, I'm required to survey my target audience and find out what they would like to see in my page. Some the most likely potential users of my web page are fellow genealogists, especially genealogists whose research interests overlap with mine.
Long surveys are frustrating, so I have just three questions for you. Feel free to skip some of them, but if you have time to answer at least one question before Thursday, I (and my assignment grade) would be very grateful:

Can you give me an example of a private web page about a family's history that is well done? What do you like about it?
Have you ever encountered a private web pages about a family's history that was done poorly? What made you dislike it?
Pretend that you've just stumbled across my page, and you think that the people I'm researching might be your people too. What features do you hope to see on my page?

Does anyone know how I can email my tree(in the Family Tree Builder) from my laptop to my desktop? I've tried exporting it to a GEDCOM file, successfully, but it doesn't include my pictures. When I got all the pictures over to the desktop, they weren't linked with their individuals. What a mess. Should I be emailing the saved 'database' and not a GEDCOM file?
you do File.Manage Projects.Export in order to export your project into a zip archive (use a different name so that you're sure it won't overwite the original when you reload it during the test). During the process you have an option to incld the Photos.
When you reload it, you'll notice that you have your whole tree available in that zip file.
Hello,I have a bug to report in the Family Tree Builder.
The options I insert in the program (%d %m %y, background color, and all other options) are erased from one session to the other. There’s no way for the program to remember them.
The same for the languages.
Regarding the dates it’s a real problem because you might have set the dd/mm/yy format, the next time you use the program you might have forgotten that the program doesn’t remember those settings, and the program interprets badly part of the dates you insert.
Regarding the languages it’s annoying too. It seems that the program remember the languages you set when you created your project. I first set Italian and French but I soon noticed that I couldn’t see any info in the published site if I kept those languages. So I reverted back to English. But if I forget this bug and I start typing data in the French or the Italian text fields, they won’t just appear and all my work is useless.
The same bug affects the password to the Internet site. I once had to change the password to the internet site because I had forgotten my first one. Now, each time that I want to publish my tree from the Builder, I have to wait for the program to tell me that my password is wrong (it still has in mind the first password and can’t remember the new one I am setting every day) and set the new one before being able to publish my tree.
The same when I try to see my smarttags.
I think it’s probably a common problem (the Builder cannot remember some options) and I hope it’s easy for you to fix.I use the Builder intensively and I uld like to know how to fix those bugs onmy side if it is possible or when are you going to publish a new release?Thank you.Have a nice week end.
