looking for relatives to Elga Krastins. She went to Denmark under 2.world war. She had a sister, Lidia(I believe) who stayed in Latvia, I believe she had a son, maybe more kids. Those will be my cousins. I heard my mother talk about Daugapils, many times. Maybe it could be a hint. I would be so happy, if anyone might know something. Thank you
We are trying to trace a NIKOLAJEW family who came to Australia via Germany after World War II.
Their DP documents state they were born and worked in Abrinow (or Abrino), Latvia, until 1944, but we can't seem to identify what or where this is.
Can anyone help?
You should look for place i think called Abrene, don't live anymore in latvija but do remember place like that unless mot information you can find in www.raduraksti.lv, there is massive storage with church books, just go and find a year or a place ang go trough all pages. that should help.
My maternal grandfather died in approx 1962. He lived in Slough, England but apparently came from Latvia. He had changed his name to Ralph Johnson but we have little other information. I believe his family name was Rogier or something like that. He left his homeland at the age of 14. ( Riga, Latvia). Family history says he had 2 brothers and a sister. Brothers possibly in the Cavalry. Talented artists and musicians. Any leads would be gratefully accepted.
Well Phillip Lazarus was born in England to parents Solomon Lazarus and Augusta Lazarus. Phillip born before they took the voyue over to the States landing in New York City. The next son (Benning) was born in New York a year later 1861. My great grandfather was Aaron Lazarus born in 1867. My grandfather was Solomon Lazaurs born in 1898. Yes all Jewish background at that time. My grandfather married my grandmother which was Dorothy Kreppel another German name but she switch to Jewish religion. It is funny because Kreppel is a Jewish last name. It could be she didn't know she was Jewish because her mother married an English man Ibbott. Then she died when my grandmother was very young. So sometimes religion gets left out of someone's life. My father was Stanley Solomon Lazarus and he married my mom which was a Taylor and out of the Jewish faith. We were brought up Christian. It looks like you left this note a while back so I hope it helps out in a way.
