Does anyone know of the Robson Spencer family that lived in Vancouver British Columbia. They emigrated from Newcastle upon Tyne UK after WWII (both deceased) were Thomas and Peggy. Thomas died 11/12/1976. aged 73. The sons were called James, Brian, Alan. Thomas had a Sister Mary Ann (Molly) and a brother Richard (Dick) Spencer Who was in the merchant navy.
I stumbled across the problem that I cannot retain the family surname of the bride in a marriage (like in a partnership): MyHeritage assumes that she will adopt the family name of the bridegroom, which is not the case as she keeps her family name
What can I do, or is it just impossible to record such?

Hi Melchert,
It seems the software automatically forces the bride to adopt the husband's name. It even adds things like Junior to the bride's name. In latin countries we keep two family names and it is even more complex.
By the way, do you know how to use someone already in the tree if this person happens to be linked back. I have found a few cases of marriage within the family (cousins) in my ascendency and this person is doubled instead.
Hi, I think the version that is operational now allows you to specifie a "Married Surname" where you can manually state what name applies. My problem is how to get the site to stop assuming every partnership is a marriage. It has caused some problems with people because they are furious that the system says "husband" or "wife" of someone they were never married to. Any Ideas?
I just started here in 2012, but in the tree set-up area, you can choose whether to list the woman by her original surname, in which case the married name shows in parentheses. My sister did not adopt her husband's name, so this style option seems much better. It does apply to all females in the tree.
When I add a new individual linked to someone, the site prompts me right there as the person is being added where "partner" is an option besides "engaged", "husband" "wife", etc.
Majority of the sites that deal with Family Trees ussually follow the Gen-Con design. Has anyone else run through a different format of data? I'm trying to find a design that allows for ease of use and modification based on a web database design. I've created a simple database, but am looking for a better design that would allow for a dynamically created family tree similar to what MyHeritage is already doing.
