I am still nailing it down, I believe that they came to NZ after their youngest daughter Elizabeth was born in 28 September 1869 in Dongeal. Peter was granted some land under the Manchester Land Grant in 1876. I believe that the port of arrival was Dunedin. I am interested in any info that you have on Peter and Mary CURREEN and they family.

George Rankin jnr and Elizabeth Therisa Curreen known children were: Agnes Lavenor Maud Rankin, Mary Laird Rankin, Marion Rankin. I have never heard of Faith, Agatha or Grace before. Agnes married George Henry McDermid in Feilding, NZ in 1917.

The first set of twins - Ellen Maud Curreen born 13/01/1884 and Mary Ethel Curreen born 15/01/1884. Ellen and Mary were raised by Mary's parents.
The second set of twins - Annie Agnus Lavina Curreen born 06/11/1886 and William Curreen born 6/11/1886. Annie and William were raised by Peter and Mary Curreen and that Elizabeth Peter and Mary youngest daughter help raised them too.
I am interested in any other info/photos of the CURREEN and RANKIN that you may have. I am still trying to locate the year , the ship and the port of arrival that Peter and Mary and their children came to NZ, At the moment I have hit a brick wall.
I'm interested in the story of William and Mary CUREEN and their twins. My husband is a descendant of Mary Ethel CURREEN. I can't seem to find any records on the BDM site for NZ regarding the 2nd set of twins and was unaware of their existence. I think that Mary Curreen (nee Robertson) may have remarried in 1894 but I cannot find any further records for William. My mother -in-law says that her Grandmother Mary Ethel talked of her Father being a Professor of Music. I'm not sure if she was referring to William or possibly a step-father or even her Grandparent. What an interestingly confusing story!! I have pictures of Mary Ethel if you are interested.

Your picture of Faith which is named by my grandmother as "Elizabeth Rankin born on voyage to NZ, to Peter and Mary Curreen" something wrong here it would seem???????
My grandmother wrote down alot of family information, she did mix up certain facts about her father and step-father and probably other points on family members. I will send you a copy of this on your email. I need to sort out my information as it is spread all over the place.
