I can't help you with Linda and Ilona's present whereabouts. What I do know is that they grew up in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, and my mother and their mother were best friends. The girls were a few years younger than me and I sometimes used to babysit. My strongest memory about their mother is that she had a terrible scar on her arm, where she had held it over a gas flame to burn away her identity number from the German prison camp. She was a strong cheerful woman, and always very kind to me. I can only rember her as Mrs Webster
I was astonished to see your entry, as this is the first time I have been remembering those times for many, many years, I googled Linda and Ilona Webster just now to see whether they are still in England and how they have been getting on, and this came up.
