I am searching for information on my biological grandmother on my mother's side. My mother was Mary Anna Rude. She is now deceased. So I am doing this for my own personal reasons. She was married to Ernest Rude. She left sometime when my mother was a small child. My mother was born in 1936, so it was probably when my mother was 1 to 3 years old. My mother never really remembered much about her real mother. Her real mother's name was Elizabeth Starbuck. My mother also had an older brother whose name was Everett. I would love to know more. I am doing this for my husband and children. My husband doesn't know any of his true blood relatives on his father's side. The only person he ever knew was his grandmother. She remarried when his father was a small child, so naturally she had a different name. Her married name was Ann Gayler. My husband's father's name is James Walter Edwards. My husband has tried talking to his father,but he refuses to talk about it. His father is now in his seventys, so it is possible there is no one still living who would know. I know his grandmother lived in Illinois for awhile, then moved to Iowa. We think my husbands real grandfather may have lived in Iowa City,Iowa at one time.We would really like to find out something. I am looking for any information regarding an adotion that took place in 1958. A woman who identified herself as Dorris Schmucher. She gave birth to Mickey Ann Schmucher and put her up for adoption in Peoria, IL at the Florence Crittenton Home. She left information saying that she was recently divorced and had a son from a previous marriage. I am looking for any information at all.
