My mother and her sister were adopted many years ago and she has exhausted all avenues of getting a true birth certificate. She is now 72 years old and her mother has passed on also. Her sister (also now passed on) had a birth certificate of her own but my mother has never had one. The adoption was private - she was born in Chicago, IL. If anyone has any information on how to fulfill my Mom's wish of an actual birth certificate, I would appreciate any help. thank you.

I've been trying for years to find information on the birth family of my great grandfather, Donald Burns Miller. He was born February 6, 1911 and died July 2001. Burns is the surname of one or both of his biological parents. I had some very vague information that part of his biological family was based in Philadelphia, but nothing came of that "lead" (Donald lived most of his life in south central Pennsylvania).
