Hi, Yellow Rose (I like that name, and very suitable for a Texan! ).
Do you mean Darlington District in South Carolina? While I do live in SC, as far as I know none of my Whites ever came quite that far south. Still, I can't rule that out, since it is a vast family (a nice way of saying they bred like bunnies, lol) and I still cannot trace all of my White ancestors--there are so many of them!!
Do you have any info about your immigrant Whites? (I hope I spelled that right--I still get 'emigrant' and 'immigrant' confused! ). I'm pretty sure that my line of Whites left Northern Ireland and settled first in Pennsylvania, altho after that they did scatter pretty far and wide! So some of them might well have ended up in Louisiana or Texas.
John and Lydia in Darlington District is as far as I have been able to back into. None of the remaining family knows anything about the ancestry or where they immigrated from. I have attempted to contact some of the decendants in Louisiana to no avail.
Looking for ancesters of James A. White, born in Mississippi abt 1854, father of Hugh Louis White born in Union City Tennessee 1888, father of James Archie born in Memphis TN 1912, brother of Hugh Anthony, Werdna, Lois and India White.
I am Hugh L. White's granddaughter. I'm looking for information on James Archie White, his father, and Agnes Elizabeth Parker, his mother. If you have any information I would be very appreciative.
Do you know who his father is? My Great Great Great Grandfather, John White lived in E. Feliciana Parish, La. but that was orginally part of Mississippi so depending on the time line, it could have still been Mississippi during part of the early years. John and his wife Lydia had a number of children, and several of them settled in the MIssissippi area as well as moving on into Texas. My line descended from John thru Edwin, Archibald Nickerson to Onie Mack who was my grandfather. If any of these names link up to yours, I would appreciate an answer.
I am looking for information on a Robert White who married a Bessie Pollard around 1909, he is listed as a teacher in DeKalb County TN in the 1920 & 1930 census. Any information would be helpful.
