I am searching for ancestors in Calabria, possibly from Spezzano Albarese. Family oral history indicates that the Sagolla surname that was changed deliberately or accidentally in America may have come from Saulle in Italy or Albania. My great-grandfather's first name was Domenico. He married a woman named Giulia. They had one son, Antonio, born in Italy. Their other children were born in Bristol, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. One son was Joseph Sagolla, my grandfather.
Repucci, Cporale, Guida, Weeder, Dewey My Mother, VICTORIA ROSE DEWEY Her mother was: VICTORIA MARGARET DEWEY. Her parents were MICHAEL GUIDA, AND ANTOINETTE CAPORALE. Michael‘s parents were: ANTONIA GUIDA and MARIA (last maiden name unknown) Antoinette’s parents were: GIUSEPPE CAPORALE, and VITORIA, (VICTORIA) REPUCCI. From what I think I know, Michael Guida, born abt. 1848, arrived around 1891 of June from Port of VARREILES and NAPLES, ITALY and arrived in NEW YORK, on the passenger ship ALESIA. (I think)

I am trying to find my relatives in Calabria. My great grandfather was Domenick Giardino he married Maria Magnelli(o?). My great great grandfather was Luigi Giardino(Domenick's father). He married Gesamina (not sure of maiden name). Domenick's brothers were Frank, Joseph, John(we believe he changed his name to Giardine) & Salvatore, they had one sister Mary. We have relatives in Boston, Mass., we believe Luigi had a brother Domenick who had a sons Gaetano, Vincent, Dominic; daughters Frances & Genevieve (who remained in Italy) & Josephine. my great great grandparents (Mary/Maria Magnelli's parents) were Domenico Magnelli & Filomena (Consentino) Magnelli.
Any information regarding our family would be most helpful. My grandfather Charles Domenick Giardino has since passed & I cannot remember or find the information he gave me as a teen. My sister Deb & I have been trying to research our family and have been able to find many relatives here on the USA side but would like to be able to reach our family in Italy. We are trying to find the town in Calabria that our family originally resided in and now where are relatives reside.
