I just began creating and researching my genealogy. Only about two years ago we came in contact for the first time with my mother's biological side of the family. From her mom we were given a few names and dates. One of the furthest back was a woman named Pearl Provence (Born Thompson) who married a William Allen Provence. They would have lived around late 1800's to early/mid 1900's. Pearl would be my grandmother's grandmother. To our knowledge the line from my mother's mother is French and Native American (Cherokee and Choctaw). Any information would be greatly appreciated.
