I live in NZ and as such doing any genealogy in the UK is really really hard, especially when records only go so far and I have details prior to these. In saying this, I am hoping that there is someone out there is is related to my Stucks and can help me with info.
My John STUCK b 24 December 1803 in Colne Engaine, Essex, married Mary Ann REYNOLDS c1830. Mary Ann was b 22 October 1811 in Braintree, Alpamstone, Essex. Mary Ann d 22 October 1880 in Alphamstone, Essex and John d 24 December 1880 in Alphastone, Essex.
Johns parents were Henry & Susan. I do not know Susan's surname or anything about these two. I have got the 1841 census which tells me that Henry was born 1778 and Susan 1788 but other than this, I'm at a lost.
John & Henry are my 4th & 5th great grandfather respectively. Henry had three children that I can find, John, Samuel (b 1805) & Charles (b 1806). John and Mary Ann were bunnies and had 11 children (James b 1833, Samuel b 1836, Joseph b 1838, Edmund b 1840, Caroline b 1841, Mary Ann b 1842 d 3 days later, George b 1845 died one week later, George b1847 died 4 days later, Benjamin b 1849, Mary Ann b 1852 died 10 days later, Arthur b 1861). From what I can gather only James Reynolds b 1833 (my 3rd great grandfather) came to New Zealand.
Can anyone help me on how to go forward on this? According to the census Henry & Susan lived at Lodge Gate, Gosfield, which is in the Parish of Gosfield Enum. District.
I'm sorry but I don't have any information further back than Henry and Susan. But I too am a descendant of James and Hannah Stuck. Their daughter Esther Hanna Maria was my great grandmother. I'm also getting excited about finding all this out. so I wanted to say thank you for the new information that your post has provided and to wish you all the best in your search.
I am researching informatio on the siblings and forefathers of Gregor Stuckel (b. Austria 1826, d. Wilkin, MN, 1910). His wife's name was Katherina (b. 1826, d. Lake Lenore SK 1910).
If you have any information, please contact me using the My Heritage email. Thank you.
