I have ancestors that were from North Carolina and would like to know more about them. I am looking for my 4th great grandfather Levi MOORE’s parents. Levi was born in North Carolina about 1803, according to the 1850 U.S. Federal Census. Levi MOORE married Rutha CALDWELL on November 19, 1827, in Haywood County, North Carolina. Levi and Rutha lived in Cherokee County, North Carolina. They had a son Harland McPherson Moore (H.M.) Moore bornApril 14, 1832, in Haywood County, North Carolina.
Would anyone know his parents’ names?
Levi MOORE was about 47 years old and his home was in Cherokee County, North Carolina, U.S according to the 1850 U.S. Federal Census. By the way these MOORE's were white. I have researched and there were blacks that have similar names.
SURNAMES: CALDWELL, MOORE
Alternative names: Levy, Ruthy, and Ruth, Harlin, Harland

I have found census records for him and his wife in Alabama and Mississippi, but I havn't been able to find anything on his birth place in North Carolina or is parents.

I am a descendant of the Bonners of Chowan, NC. I have enjoyed doing research on the family so much that I wrote mystery starring an amateur genealogist called PAGING THE DEAD. I'd like to find out more about the family, particularly I'd like to make the link "across the pond". There I am stymied.

Helping my friends mother who is ill, she would love nothing more then to get back into contact with a son she had to give up for adoption. She had her son while living in Cape Fear North Carolina, at Fort Bragg military hospital. He would be about 42 years old. It was a closed adoption.Obviously his name would have been changed with the adoption but this was his name on his birth certificate. His Mother was a waitress at a local Diner. Please contact me with any information. Thank You for your time.
