Helping my friends mother who is ill, she would love nothing more then to get back into contact with a son she had to give up for adoption. She had her son while living in Cape Fear North Carolina, at Fort Bragg military hospital. He would be about 42 years old. It was a closed adoption.Obviously his name would have been changed with the adoption but this was his name on his birth certificate. His Mother was a waitress at a local Diner. Please contact me with any information. Thank You for your time.
Seeking relatives of William R HOGARTH b. 1900/01 Dare County, Norfolk, North Carolina.
His parents were John Martin HOGARTH (master mariner) & Martha BROTHERS. The 1900 & 1910 US census records show the family living in Nags Head Township, Dare County but show Martha as a widow. Children recorded are Alford Hogarth, Annie Hogarth, Cora Hogarth, William (Willie) Hogarth and Nora Hogarth.
William junior was a seaman with the Merchant Service who, in 1927, was in Liverpool, England where he married Margaret Elizabeth MILLER born abt. 1902 Liverpool, England. Shortly after the wedding he sailed back to New York with his ship S.S. Kerkonkson. He sent money back for his wife Margaret to save up to buy tickets for herself and their son William Kenneth HOGARTH who was born in 1928 in Liverpool, England.
I have no idea if Margaret did join William in the US but I do know that their son was brought up in Liverpool. Her husband William senior's sister Nora BERNOSKY wrote to Margaret in Liverpool and sent her a photograph showing William and Nora as children on the porch of their Nags Head home with their mother.
My great nephew is the great grandson of William Robert Hogarth and I am trying to research his family for this reason.
Can anybody help please with information about the family. I think their sister Cora married into the Quidley family.
