Does anyone have details of this family? I am chasing the connection to Family Rose and my grandmother Vera May (nee Harris, Marr 1. McCarty, Marr 2 Rose, Marr 3 Cuatt?). Her birth year was 1901 in the UK. I have seen a posting by a member of the Hickey Family (nee Cuatt) dated 2003. Westchester seems to be the location for all these people, hence this posting!
Looking for info about an old New York Family: LeViness, LaViness, Lavinus. My part of family lived in Westchester and then the Bronx, West Farms, Fordham, etc. Info concerning George Leviness b. 1830 would be appreciated.
My great grandmother, Theresa Charlotte Leviness, had a brother George, born abt 1838. Their parents were Sylvester Leviness b 1811 and Susan Leviness b 1820 in N.. All were brought up in Westchester County, i.e. Yonkers. If this is the right George Levinus I have more info if interested.
Thanks for your reply! I don't have much information about George Leviness except an approximate birth date from census records and an occupation - he was a silver plater. He passed this occupation on to his son, Joseph Henry who was my gggrandfather born in New York.
Could you share your source with me to determine if we are related? Thanks, Beth
I have been very busy with my husband these past few years. He passed away recently and I am doing more research for my family tree. If you still want to talk, please let me know. I won't be back to Connecticut until beginning of June 2015. All my research is home there. I believe my dad's uncle is George Leviness from Greenburgh/Westchester County Area. Do you know if George had a sister Theresa?
My name is Debbie Combs Maguire. I came across your messages doing some family research. Lorretta, I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your husband.
My great - grandmother was also Theresa Leviness. Her son Harry Prince Combs is my grandfather. George, Harry's youngest child is my Dad. My Dad (89) still has three sisters living, Nioma (98) Genevieve and Edythe (92)
I have been looking for a while on any information of David and Theresa (Leviness) Combs. I can find some on Theresa, but David - not so much. I've only found a couple of census' and I do have a picture of his headstone in Oakland Cemetary in Yonkers where my grandparents Harry and Genevieve Combs are buried.
I've found Theresa's obituary online, but would love to learn more about her. My Dad doesn't remember much about her and his memory is fading. He would have only been about 10 when she passed away.
