Notes: According to family lore, Walter or an ancestor immigrated to the US from England or Scotland due to a family dispute or legal trouble. At the time of immigration, he changed his name & refused to divulge it to his family.

I am looking for relatives of the Clarence Smith family from Illinois. Clarence had a wife Peggy and they had I do believe 10 or so children, including one set of twins. The Smith family is from my mother's side, her father was Thomas Smith and had a sister Bernice Smith/Brown/or Browne. Out of all of Clarence children all were girls except for one boy.

Looking to find any family or information about my mom's real dad Dock Smith....born around 1919 & was said to have died in a car wreck before she was born in 1946. We were told he had two sisters one named Louise (she lived on Oliver Street in Elberton, Ga. at one time) & the other one named Dorothy Smith.
He was from Ogelthorpe County Georgia (in or around the Sandy Cross area)
He was either married or put down on my mom's birth certificate as being married to my mom's mother Betty Smith (Real name Dorothy Elizabeth Melton Smith born 6-7-1927 & died 3-5-2010
My mom is desperate to know if she had any family from his side that may be alive....she would love to see something with a picture of her dad since she never saw him & just have something to give her something to show about him.
