My grandfather's side of the famiy came from German.
They lived in the South End of Albany Broad Street and Green Street.
Great Grandfather was Fred Forman (Formanoskie).
He was married to Magdalena Forman.
Children: John, Charles, Joseph Herbert, and Lena.
Charles was in World War I and worked as a Fireman on the New York Central Railroad Line from Syracuse to Albany.
I am searching for relatives older that Fred and Magdalena and information about their backround. Year of immigration, date, boat and town they entered the US and any other information of interest.
I am interested in locating abstracts for Albany County, marriage, land, probate for example.Abstracts of the records not the indexes. If you know of abstracts for Albany County or New York State please let me know. The records can either be available on the internet or printed in a book.I am having difficulty locating anything. Thanks for your help.
Another online Family genealogy bookstore is born and they are pretty good in the way they market their products. Beside the fact that they have very high quality products, they have a perfect bound soft cover and a hardback format of the rarest books available to researchers, their books are cheap compared to other online bookstore but what make them unique is that they send you with each book order the searchable pdf format on a CD of the book that you order and the CD also contains their catalog. I am a critique for an online blog and I shall not say its name here and I must say that they are very impressive.
I ordered a couple of books from them and I was very pleased with their service and their product.
I know that I sound like I am trying to promote them but I am just trying to give them what is due to them, acknowledgment.
There is a large number of us Dmyszewicz decendants here in New York State, the Albany - Capital District area. We are having such a great time learning about all of our distant relatives!
