william savage my grgrandfather was born belfast 1857/8 he married a mary annmaloney born 1860,?carlisle cumberland england william died age 41 any information re my grgrandfather would be welcome
I'm looking for any information on a Savage family that emigrated from Ireland to Quebec Canada around 1832 or 1833, they stayed in Canada for about 13 years then moved to New York U.S.A.. They had 10 children which I found in an 1850 census for Moira New York U.S.A.. The problem I'm having is that the father, Mr Savage died between 1847 - 1850 and was not on the census, so I cant find his first name or date of birth...His wife Mary is on the census, but has no maiden name, just Mary Savage born about 1810, also from Ireland. The 2 oldest children were born in Ireland, Patrick Savage about 1829, and Julia Savage about 1831, the rest were born in Canada and New York U.S.A. One son, Thomas Savage born 1841 in Canada, possibly Quebec is my great great grandfather, any help in finding his parents names or any of my relatives would be greatly appreciated, my email is cyndiepritchett@yahoo.com
The progenitor of the Savage Family was Robert LeSauvage a Norman Knight who arrived in England in Derbyshire with William the Conqueror in the Battle of Hastings
I have Alanson in New York State - along with other family members. I see a note below mine claiming there are only 3 Savage Families and they are in the South.
Which Savage Family are you talking about. There are 3 different SAVAGE families that I know about, Maine, North Carolina and Tennessee. I have been researching SAVAGE for about 50 years and haven't found a connection between these families.
There are large numbers of descendents of the Savages of England, France and Ireland in the U.S. Would be happy to help. Comtact me at; Dick Thomas tomcon66@sbcglobal.net
