I am looking for the parents of William Robinson. b about 1827 /- five years. He married Elizabeth Constantine of Tyldesley, Lancashire.
UKBMDS MARRIAGES Jun 1845 Constantine Elizabeth Ashton &c 20 20 Robinson William Ashton &c 20 20
William's father was Tom or Thomas and that he was a stonemason, [information from the marriage certificate of William and Elizabeth]. Her parents were George Constantine and her mother was Sarah Aldred [Alldred]
One of William and Elizabeth's sons was Tom Robinson, b 1955 at Salford, Lancs. He was a Trade Unionist and knew and worked with some of the men who formed the first Labour government inc Ben Tillet and Hannen Swaffer. Tom was the first labour town councillor for the Stalybridge council following the big Carrbrook strike in 1895. Tom married an Alma Mary Elizabeth Bond of Limerick Ireland, 1874at Mexborough [her father was a George Bond his occupation was soldier].Her family are a complete mystery to me, I am unable to find them anywhere before 1874.
Elizabeth Constantine was a sister to the Chartist Joseph Constantine. In 1848, he was one of the leaders of the Chartist troubles in Manchester when Constable James Bright was shot and killed. He and Joseph Radcliff were tried at the Liverpool assizes in December 1848 and sentenced to transportation for life. He was deported in 1849 to Tasmania, aboard the Adelaide.
Any assistance would be appreciated Shalom Phyllis nee Robinson
I am looking for two step-great-uncles, Jimmy and/or Rocky Robinson. They were born in Lancaster County, SC, probably in the 1940's or 1950's. I haven't had contact with them for years and have questions about their links to the family. Please contact me if you know their whereabouts. Thanks
Addendum: Their father would have been names John P (Peterson?) Robinson. He passed away in 1950 I believe.
I went to school with Rocky. Pretty sure it is the same one. The information he sent in for our Class Reunion Book (Class of 1964, Lancaster Sr. High) listed barock11@dishmail.net for his emial address. His mailing address is 1988 Stafford Dr., Lancaster, SC 29720. The phone number listed was 803-285-4032. I think he may have retired from Springs and worked with my mom at one point. My maiden name was Robinson. Possibly we'd be cousins if we went back far enough. I would assume Rocky was born in 1946 as I was. I didn't know his brother.
