Johann Peter Meyer left Hanover , around 1868-70, avoiding conscription into the Prussian War. He came to England and set up business as a furniture maker. He came from a farm background somewhere just outside of Hanover. He was born around 1849. I am trying to trace his family before him -.It is stated on later documents as he being born in Germany as a British Subject whether this came after he arrived in Britain or the fact that the King of England was also the prince of Hanover. Anyone out there have any info, would like to hear from you - thanks
